Telefónica y más fotos de el fin de semana pasado

So today a girl in our group was super sick. She looked like death. The teacher was freaking out, so we had a pretty hectic morning. After they worked our her health care, we went to a professional visit at Telefónica. We took the metro for a long time. Telefónica is like it's own city. It has everything from a shopping area to a doctor and dentist office to a glasses store to everything. There was WiFi throughout the entire complex and it was a really big complex. Everything was 3D TVs and virtual ladies. They have solar panels and recycled paper. Just an all around grand company. It was a really nice visit. Afterwards I wrote my paper for it and then hung out with Casey for a while. We were supposed to do work and buy our train tickets to Barcelona but instead we just hung out and talked about movies. Tío Jorge showed up to pick me up for dinner! We went down the street to this huge indoor market that I didn't know existed. It was really nice, we went to a couple of tapas bars and I had a lot of juice and fish. When my first juice came I didn't notice that the top was screwed off for me but they guy had just left the cap there. So I went to shake it up and juice went EVERYWHERE. My lap was soaked. I tried to play it off and smile but I was really hoping that my lap would dry before we left for the next place. All the tapas places were really nice and Tío Jorge told me about  his transition to Spanish culture from Colombia. It was really interesting. Then my Tía showed up and we went to a restaurant with typical northern Spanish food. They brought out the hugest tuna tortilla I have ever seen and some fried blue cheese balls. Realize I am already stuffed and now I am eating a giant tuna pie and FRIED BLUE CHEESE BALLS, the densest thing you can ever eat. It was all really good but I was so full. I already had so many tapas and like 6 juices. It was nice hanging out with them though. It was a 3 and 1/2 hour dinner.  When I got back I hung out with Lauren and Casey talking about our project and our pasts. I showed them an OLD picture, it was really funny. Now I am about to go pass out! =]

Sevilla y Granada

Thursday night, I went out with Neha, Catherine, Beth, Elana, Graham, and Devon for a little while. We went to a cute side bar that was really chill after we got gelato. Friday we left for Sevilla at 7 am. While we were about to leave I noticed that two girls from our group were missing. Poor ladies were still asleep when I went to get them. We had to run to the metro after that. The train ride to Sevilla took forever or at least it felt like forever since Graham was pestering me the WHOLE time. He took his shoes of and put his leg across me toward the window. He kept asking me if I wanted to sleep or talk and when I said sleep he would continue to talk. That kid, I swear. Haha we finally made it to Sevilla. The rooms weren’t ready so we went on a city tour. We walked around the city for 4 hours. We saw parks, the stadium for the bull fights, churches, and some Arabic building that I forgot the name of. The tour guide was kind of a jerk and told me he wanted to correct my tattoo. I did not like that nor the fact that he was walking us to death. Sweaty and tired and SUPER hungry we finally made it to the hotel and then we went out to eat. Casey, Neha, Graham, Devon and I ate at a Chinese place! It was pretty good. Then we had Ben and Jerry’s! There was an ice cream place for it, crazy right? SIESTA TIME. After that we got together as an entire group and went out to eat. We went to a tapas bar, but again this tour guide, PABLO, was being stubborn and was trying to make all 24 of us split a bill. Neha, Kaylee and I were restricted with what we could eat and it would not be fair to make us pay just as much as everyone else. He was not getting it until the end and we decided to split up the bill into 8 people groups. Neha and I went and ate pizza after, since we were still hungry. That night we went out and partied A LOT. It was Catherine’s birthday in the morning, so we made it a memorable one. I danced with a bunch of ladies and had a good bit to drink. It was pretty fun, especially since we were in such a large group. We went to a bar and made it into a club with all of us dancing in the middle. A bunch of people went home, but instead Beth, Graham, Devon, Neha, Catherine and I stayed out longer and went to a tiny gay bar for some shots. In the end I was carrying Catherine home. In the morning we spent most of the day in this huge church. It was really pretty and had a great view of the city. SIESTA TIME. Later on we decided to all go out as a group to a restaurant by the river. We ended up going with the professor Cleger and leaving Pablo. At my table were Casey, Neha, Catherine, Beth, Graham, Devon, and Cleger. It was really fun; we got to hang out with our teacher and get to know him. He is a great kid. Also Neha and I ate something really good! After that we went for a walk by the river. It was rather peaceful, but we were being loud Americans like usual. Haha In the morning we got on a train to Granada! Or maybe it was a bus, I can’t really remember. Anyways when we got to Granada we went out for lunch. We ended up going to a tapas place and ate with the professor again! Neha and I had gazpacho and some spinach something. It was really good. Then we went on a city tour that went all over the place. After that we went to the Arabic market and looked around, it was really cool but I didn’t buy anything like usual. =P The usual group of people I hang out with and I went out to eat at an Arabic restaurant. It was really good, but we were in a hurry and had to eat fast and then go. It was not a pleasant experience. Then we had a tour of the upper part of the city to learn about some Gitano roots before we went to a Flamenco show. The show was pretty fantastic! Their feet move like crazy! Afterwards we went back and went out to a hookah bar! It was just Graham, Devon, Casey, Neha and I. The place was in this back alley, but the people were super nice! They put the Aladdin hat on Casey and this scarf with coins on it on me. We also got tea! DELICIOUS! It was really relaxing. In the morning after breakfast we walked FOREVER up hills to go to a palace. It was really pretty, though! After walking for forever again we went out to eat at a kebab place, I got falafals. Then we went to another hookah bar! We had mint lemonade this time though. =] Hookahs are so fun. Time to go home on a train, this I am for sure of. Casey and I ate dinner together on the train and talked about food idiosyncrasies. He was not a fan of the idea of hot chocolate with cheese, like everyone else I know. =P Oh well it is really good. Finally we made it home and I found out my computers wifi was broken. Frustrated I went to sleep.
