Dance!

So today is Corpus Christi! We had a late start, I got to wake up at 8:30 am. Yeah I know, spoiled. haha We were supposed to met with the other girls to take a taxi to the festivities at 9:40 am, but Nikita took her sweet time and we didn't leave the house until like 9:50 am. Haha I so thought the other girls left us, which all of them but Sandhya did. While trying to get a taxi this guy honked his horn which sounded like the wolf whistle and the passenger stuck his head out and blew a kiss at me. It was so awkward. Finally we got a taxi and made our way to Centro Tinku to met up with the rest of the group. We met our new teacher and he told us to take pictures and videos of the festivities for a project. He split us into 4 groups of 7, I ended up in a group with Nikita, Neha, Sandhya, Sindu, Angela, and Abbie. Afterwards we all walked to the plaza de armas together. The streets were packed! There was so much going on. There was dancing and singing and a mass procession and LOTS OF FOOD. Mostly cuy though, their national dish. It was pretty fun though. I tried the corn patties, really good. Nikita and I ate some multigrain bread with one raisin, disappointed about it only being one raisin. When we first got there though we all dispersed and I ended up with Nikita and Sandhya. We interviewed some dancers, some students, and an old guy. Sandhya started feeling ill though from all the food and people so we went and sat down in an open area. She started feeling better so we started walking to the regroup place. On the way we saw the most delicious cake! We decided we would buy it one day, settling for chocolate for the time being. Nikita got a coconut for the water inside. I drank some. It was really good. Then most of the group, minus Abbie, went to get lunch. We ate at Prasada again but Nikita and I split the lasagna this time. After walking around forever, Nikita, Neha, and I found a taxi. Now we are at home waiting for it to be 6 pm so we can go back to the plaza de armas for the final farewell of Dr. Galloway since she is leaving Friday at noon. Well I will see her again when I go to Spain.
