Alone in Cusco

Last night was a fiasco. After getting off of skype with my parents my group for my project asked me to go back to centro tinku. I knew I should go since I hadn’t started on the project, but it was a 20 minute bus ride from the internet café near my house to Centro Tinku. I really didn’t want to go alone. Nikita was not feeling well and wanted to go back to the house, this led to me asking if I could just stay at the internet café and do the work online from there. My group members were very persistent and I felt bad about it anyways, so my adventure of traveling alone in Peru after 8 pm started. When I was walking out of Don Pancho, the internet café, I ran into my host mom. She was confused as to why I was alone at first but when I explained my situation she wished me luck. Emilie had said to only ride the taxis with phone numbers on top for security, but I was in a hurry and grabbed the first one. It was a dead silent car ride since I was hawk eyeing all of the landmarks I knew so I wouldn’t get kidnapped, if it counts as kidnapping at my age. Finally I arrived and felt super awesome, since I made it on my own. Yet when I got there the door was shut and locked. Knocking away with no avail I finally discovered the doorbell. A kid came to the door and told me that no one was there and that I shouldn’t be there also. It was rather strange. Not knowing what to do since I don't have a phone to contact anyone or know the address of my house, I know dumb. Wandering down the street alone I came upon a internet cafe! Thankfully. I saw that I had missed a message on Facebook saying that my group was out eating and would be at centro tinku in like 10 minutes. I rushed back and started to wait for them. I looked like a bum since I was curled up on the front door step of the school. Finally my friends came and we did our project. Life success for me. I can make it in a foreign city only speaking Spanish on my own. Gold star!
