From Atlanta to Lima to Cusco

After my parents dropped me off, Jean and Orr hung out with me in the extremely long security line. Even thought the line was so long it went by very quickly and I said goodbye to my friends. Going through security was pretty easy and I got to the departure gate fairly easily on my own. It was weird being alone in the airport, but it wasn't long before I found other students that were in my group. I found out that my teacher is strict and will expect a lot of work. Goodness. The plane flight was fine, I slept most of the way until a baby started crying, poor thing. Finally we got to Lima at 11 pm. I was tired but had to figure out where to go. I sat in front of the check in desks for a while until I found out they didn't open until 1:30 am. I bumped into some kids from my group and we walked around the airport until it was time to check in. My ticket didn't fully print before I left, but it wasn't a problem and they didn't notice that I had used the promo fare for Peruvian citizens, whoops. The flight didn't board until 4:40 am so I slept at the gate. Extremely uncomfortable, but at least I took the pillow and blanket from the other plane. Finally we took a tiny bus to a tiny plane and were off. I passed out on this flight next to a very nice old lady. She woke me up for breakfast. We arrived in Cusco! It was pretty chilly in the morning since it was 7 am. It has warmed up to a nice temperature though. I met my family! Señora Carola is super nice and made Nikita and me coca tea which was pretty good. I get out of breath a little easier at this altitude. I met most of the family there are 3 neitos (2 boys and a girl), 3 hijos, 2 daughter-in-laws, and the abuela (super nice!) besides Carola. It is already hard to keep track of everyone. I ended up showering, but couldn't figure out the hot water so it was very very cold. Nikita figured it out. Then I napped for a couple hours and Carola made us lunch at 2 pm. It was spaghetti con salsa verde con carne rostada y frutas. Also jugo de maracuya, mami's favorite, so good! Then Nikita and I gave our presents to Carola, her and her nietos LOVED the chocolate and oreos, good job mami! Nikita and I went exploring and I got some money and am now at an internet cafe. I will keep you posted! =]  Cuando yo estoy mejor a Español, voy a escribir en Español! Pobrecito, papa.
